Turmeric latte on a cold winters day
Updated: Apr 16, 2020
If you looking for a nice hot drink on a cold winters day, I would recommend making a turmeric latte. It has become one of my favourites during winter, its healthy and warms you from inside out, its a must try and so easy to make at home :)

Ingredients:
Coconut and almond milk (1/2 cup almond milk and half cup coconut milk or any milk you like).
Fresh turmeric
Fresh ginger
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of cinnamon powder (optional)
Method:
In a saucepan add the milk.
Grate a piece of turmeric (2cm long).
Grate a piece of ginger (2cm long).
Add a pinch of black pepper (this helps to digest the turmeric).
Add a pinch of cinnamon powder.
Use a blender to foam the milk or you can use a whisk.
Let it get hot on medium heat.
Strain into a mug using a sieve.
Where do I buy my nut milks and turmeric?
I have been using the almond and coconut milk from Nutty Bruce or Sanatarium. I might try making my own and will post that once I have made it.
I buy fresh turmeric from Farros in Auckland or any Indian grocery shop. You can even try a fruit and veg shop. You can use the dry turmeric as well, I find the fresh turmeric has a delicious taste.
