Masala tea

I love making masala tea for my family and friends. Its good in the mornings and after a long day at work. There is nothing better than a cup of delicious tea brewing in your kitchen with fresh ginger, cinnamon, fresh mint and cardamom. The best part of it is sitting down and drinking it :)



This is a recipe for 2 cups of tea


Ingredients:

1 cardamom pod crushed

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder

1-2cm ginger grated

2 sprigs of fresh mint (optional)

Water (boiled in a kettle)

Milk

Black teabags


Method:

In a pot or saucepan add 2 1/2 cups of boiling water.

Add the the ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and mint.

Let it boil on a low to medium heat for 10 minutes.

You will see the water changing colour and you will start smelling ginger, cinnamon, cardamom etc.

Add 2 teabags and 1/2 cup milk. Stir with a spoon.

Let it boil on low heat for another 10 minutes.

Strain the tea into 2 cups and enjoy with a biscuit :).


Hint:

You can add less milk and more water if you want.

The longer you boil the tea the stronger the flavours will be.
